Full-Stack Developer

Insight Xcite is looking for a Full Stack Developer to support a government client in Northern Virginia. You’ll build secure, scalable, and user-focused applications that directly support mission success. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who’s as comfortable architecting backend services as they are building intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces.

REST APIs | Microservices | JIRA / Agile

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack applications using modern frameworks and technologies
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and database integrations
• Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces aligned with mission requirements
• Write secure, efficient, and testable code across the full software development lifecycle
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprints, stand-ups, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Provide documentation and ongoing engineering support across all project phases

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) — non-negotiable
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• 3+ years of experience as a full stack developer
• Proficiency in JavaScript and at least one modern front-end framework (React, Angular, or Vue)
• Experience with backend development using Python, Node.js, or Java
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.)
• Experience developing REST APIs, microservices, and secure applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 4, Associate’s with 8)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
• Prior government or consulting experience
