Sr VMware Consultant

Our client, located in Washington, DC, is currently in need of a Sr VMware Consultant for a 20 month contract. The consultant will work onsite with some remote in support of the implementation and configuration of VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN software; and Dell PowerFlex and VxRail hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• VMware Platform Management - Install, configure, and support vSphere (8.x), NSX T/NSX V, vSAN, and related services.
• Hyper Converged Systems - Experience with Dell VxRail and PowerFlex clusters (preferred), including capacity planning, health monitoring, and firmware upgrades.
• Storage Operations - Manage block and file storage solutions (Dell/EMC preferred), perform LUN provisioning, file system administration, and data protection tasks.
• Network Integration - Configure and maintain top of rack (ToR) switches, VLANs, and NA IP routing required for virtual networking and storage traffic.
• Automation & Scripting - Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks (preferred) for provisioning, patching, and compliance tasks.
• Security & Hardening - Apply DISA STIGs and vendor specific hardening guides to both hardware and software components; conduct regular vulnerability scans and remediation.
• Documentation & Collaboration - Produce clear run books, change control records, and knowledge base articles; partner with cross functional teams (application, security, networking) to resolve incidents and implement projects.

Required Skills:

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
• Ability to work onsite in DC
• Strong VMware and HCI experience
• Experience implementing STIGs from IA
