We have an exciting opportunity in our MQ-9B Chief Engineering Office. Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for systems engineering and project engineering support for the Airframe and Production Team within the MQ-9B Chief Engineering Office.
This position will focus on airframe and production development projects pertaining to our MQ-9B RPA platform. This is a multi-faceted role dealing with a wide variety of skill sets and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
Under general supervision with limited review, this position is responsible for determining and developing effective approaches for resolving a wide range of difficult engineering problems. The position will include working with engineering leadership, program management, and customer representatives to develop and execute development, test, and sustainment programs for domestic and international customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Chief Engineering Office, provide systems engineering support as follows:
- Work with the Chief Engineering Office and Program Engineering Teams to fulfill the technical obligations of the Customer Program requirements.
- Work with Airframe Integrity Group and Mechanical Engineering functional teams to lead requirements generation, development timelines, and test execution to ensure timely delivery for Customer Programs.
- Support operation of engineering systems by evaluating and interpreting needs and developing effective approaches to resolving those issues.
- Support engineering estimates and proposals in response to customer and program management direction.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and manage issue tracking in assigned areas by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.
- Provide documentation and make technical presentations as required.
- Direct the activities of designers, technicians and may direct the activities of less experienced professional staff.
- May represent the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projects.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
- Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, four or more years of experience with a master's degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
- Background in aviation qualification and certification is desired.
- Experience with FAA Regulations, STANAG Regulations and/or MIL Specifications desired.
- Experience with critical thinking and creative problem solving in a fast paced environment is desired.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.
- Must have excellent verbal/written communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area; and, lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.
- Experience with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and export licenses is desired.
- Able to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
