Description: NSI requires an Associate Security Cooperation Specialist to support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Defense Exports and Cooperation Program Office DASA DE&C). As an Associate Security Cooperation Specialist, you will serve as an Army staff officer supporting the implementation of security cooperation (SC) and security assistance (SA) objectives. This professional role requires exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, senior executive environment. Guided by senior team members, you will be responsible for executing the full spectrum of program management tasks for an assigned country portfolio, ensuring all documentation is prepared to the highest standard for senior-level review and decision-making. Oversee, manage, and execute all facets of security cooperation and security assistance objectives for an assigned country portfolio, including Foreign Military Sales (FMS), foreign disclosure, technology transfer, and defense exports. Reviews all FMS cases within the country portfolio for accuracy, appropriateness of sale, level of disclosure, and long-term supportability. Asses foreign partner military requirements against U.S. security cooperation policy objectives to provide guidance. Will coordinate with Army Staff elements, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DCSA), the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA), the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, OSD Policy, and the Department of State on all aspects of the FMS program. Work closely with FMS implementing agencies, Program Acquisition Executives (PAEs) within Army Acquisition, Life Cycle Management Commands, and Army Contracting Command. Prepare and staff all FMS related waivers, transfers, notifications, and other staff actions at the Army level. Prepare weekly status reports and be prepared to provide detailed updates to leadership on the status of all major actions within your portfolio. Represent DASA DE&C at high-level U.S. and foreign partner engagements and meetings as required.
Location: Arlington, VA
Education: Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, National Security Policy, or a related field is required.
Allowable Substitution: At least ten (10) years of applied security assistance experience as a uniformed service member or US government employee may be used to waive required Bachelor's degree.
Experience: A minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of professional experience in international affairs, national security policy, or security assistance.
