Job Description
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Data Scientist at Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Qualified candidates must be U.S. citizens with a TS/SCI clearance and Full Scope Polygraph.
Responsibilities:
• Provide expert technical assistance to government customers by developing machine learning, data mining, and statistical algorithms.
• Analyze datasets, prototyping algorithms and models for experiments and execution.
• Generate reports that summarize datasets and provide decision-quality insights.
• Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Software Engineers to construct automated analytics and enhance workflows.
• Collaborate with customers, SMEs, and Software Engineers to define requirements and guide analytics formulation.
• Produce summaries and visualizations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
• Develop experiments and models to simulate unavailable data.
• Oversee analytics development.
• Manage the transition of prototype analytics into production.
• Evaluate the performance of analytics.
• Guide analytics development toward solutions that scale to large datasets.
• Develop and train machine learning systems to support mission automation.
• Understand and guide the integration of emerging machine learning and pattern recognition algorithms into executable solutions.
Required Qualifications:

• Experience as a data scientist or operations research analyst.
• Experience conducting modeling and simulation or decision analysis.
• Experience analyzing datasets and developing analytics.
• Experience programming with data analysis software.
Education Requirements:
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline.
Clearance Requirement:
• TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
The pay range for this position in MD is $150,000 to $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. This posting will be renewed periodically until the position is filled.
