PRISM is seeking a VMware Administrator to implement and administer vSphere virtualization solutions, with a focus on server consolidation, high availability, and disaster recovery. This position is on-site 5 days a week in Annapolis Junction, MD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configure and maintain VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and other VMware components.
Monitor virtual infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Provision, deploy, and manage virtual machines (VMs), templates, and snapshots.
Implement and maintain security measures for virtualized environments, including access controls, network segmentation, and VM isolation.
Create and maintain documentation related to virtualization configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (SKILLS/EDUCATION):
7+ years of relevant experience.
Proven experience as a VMware Admin/Engineer or similar role, with expertise in designing and managing VMware vSphere environments.
Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere features and capabilities, including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, vMotion, HA, DRS, and vSAN.
Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery methodologies for virtualized environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
