Software Engineer C++
Program Description:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the design, development, test, and enhancement of complex mission application software supporting multiple National Security Space programs.
This role focuses primarily on backend C++ development within large, operational mission systems, implementing algorithm-driven and performance-sensitive enhancements inside a mature architecture. The environment consists of established mission software platforms that have evolved over time and are currently undergoing mission-intensive updates and modernization efforts.
The selected candidate will grow into a subject matter expert within Mission Management and/or Command & Control domains and contribute technical insight to system evolution and architectural decisions.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance backend mission application software using C++ (primary) and Java (secondary)
Design and implement logical and mathematical solutions to mission-level problems
Contribute to algorithm development and performance optimization within complex systems
Work within a large, established mission software architecture
Lead portions of development efforts and provide technical input on system design decisions
Apply standards, processes, and configuration management practices throughout the lifecycle
Participate in Agile development activities (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
Conduct peer reviews, demonstrations, and support system-level test planning
Support anomaly investigations, failure resolution, and retrospective activities across interdependent components
