Senior Application Developer
Washington, DC (Bolling AFB) - onsite
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI or Top Secret (Required)
We are seeking a skilled Application Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications. This role requires strong experience in cloud-native development, microservices architecture, and backend systems, with a focus on reliability, observability, and data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend applications and services using Python
• Build and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes
• Develop and optimize database solutions using PostgreSQL
• Implement messaging and event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ
• Monitor system performance and reliability using Grafana and related observability tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications to improve performance and scalability
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipeline improvements
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in application development or software engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL (data modeling, performance tuning, querying)
• Experience implementing and managing message queues, particularly RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana
