Overview

Nakupuna Federal is seeking a Systems Engineer to support Systems of Systems (SoS) engineering and platform integration functional area s within NAVWAR's Ship Integration Program Office (PMW 760) . Working in a fast-paced program office environment, the individual will support high-visibility and mission-critical activities by facilitating leadership engagement, and ensuring timely coordination across program stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting senior leadership within NAVWAR or other Department of Defense program offices and possess a strong understanding of program office operations supporting defense acquisition programs.

Responsibilities

The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
  • Provide Systems of Systems (SoS) engineering and Integration Platform Manager support to coordinate integration of Navy C4I programs in alignment with AEGIS Combat System Baseline requirements.
  • Lead systems engineering and integration efforts across the NAVWAR enterprise, ensuring C4I capabilities meet AEGIS platform requirements and Department of the Navy (DON) capability objectives .
  • Oversee systems engineering activities supporting production and installation, including development of communication system processes and integration strategies.
  • Support AEGIS platform production and installation through development of production and quality assurance plans, engineering analysis, configuration planning, and maintenance of Installation Drawing Plans.
  • Conduct technical, milestone, and technology assessments to evaluate alignment of Programs of Record with C4I Baselines and provide recommendations on emerging communications technologies.
  • Facilitate interoperability planning and platform assessments to ensure C4I systems meet integration requirements and support advanced capabilities.
  • Serve as a technical liaison across NAVWAR, PEO C4I, and other stakeholders, enabling coordination, communication, and alignment with Navy Capability Documents.
  • Monitor AEGIS Combat System baselines and modernization efforts, providing technical analysis and recommendations on proposed changes and future baseline development.
  • Prepare, develop, and present C4I technical documentation and artifacts (including Technical Library Document Directories) for milestone reviews, engineering boards, and program forums.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system data (e.g., architectures, test and evaluation criteria, performance metrics) to support C4I certification activities.
  • Review and assess proposed engineering changes (e.g., SCDs, ECPs, ORDALTs), identify potential impacts to the C4I Baseline, and communicate risks and recommendations to the Government.
  • Analyze impacts of system changes on areas such as topside design and optical alignment certifications, supporting informed decision-making for future baselines.


Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

The ideal candidate possesses expertise and experience with NAVWAR program offices. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be familiar with and have experience with the following technical knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in a D epartment of War Program Office .
  • Knowledge of overall NAVWAR organization and mission, including PMW/PEO structure and SYSCOM integration.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize. Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working across teams. Willingness to share expertise with others and give and receive honest feedback.
  • Excellent oral and written skills .
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to learn and apply administrative support concepts to assigned duties.

Education/Experience: The following are desirable levels of experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Computer Systems, or IT Business Systems
  • 5 years of relevant working experience
  • High caliber oral, written and briefing skills.

Certification: No certifications required

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a government-issued CAC and possess a Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $101,000.00 to $189,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
