About The Role
Peraton is seeking a highly capable Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support the execution and delivery of application development, modernization, and operational support services for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT).
The DPM will play a critical leadership role in the Traveler Processing and Vetting Software (TPVS) program, managing mission-critical, 24x7 systems that enable the secure and efficient processing of millions of travelers entering the United States daily. This position serves as the primary support to the Program Manager and may act on their behalf when required.

Target Salary Range: $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking a highly capable Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support the execution and delivery of application development, modernization, and operational support services for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Office of Information and Technology (OIT).

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Program Manager in the overall execution and delivery of the TPVS program, ensuring alignment with CBP mission objectives.
- Assist in program planning, budgeting, scheduling, performance tracking, and risk management activities.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities for TPVS applications, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.
- Coordinate across technical teams, including software development, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and infrastructure support.
- Help drive system modernization initiatives, including legacy transformation and cloud migration efforts (AWS or similar platforms).
- Promote and support Agile and DevSecOps practices across teams.
- Ensure compliance with DHS and federal IT policies, including security, privacy, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) requirements.
- Assist in preparing and delivering program status reports, briefings, and executive updates to government stakeholders.
- Support resource planning, staffing coordination, and subcontractor management.
- Manage and track action items, deliverables, and program milestones to ensure timely and successful execution.
- Serve as acting Program Manager in their absence, with authority to make program decisions as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 12 years of experience, may have supervisory or management experience including program or project management within federal IT environments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical, high-availability systems.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS or similar) and system modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps methodologies.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, application life-cycle management, and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience supporting program reporting, scheduling, and financial tracking.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Ability to obtain and maintain CBP BI suitability.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Top Secret Clearance preferred
- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Experience supporting DHS, CBP, or other federal/national security agencies.
- Familiarity with traveler processing systems, border security technologies, or high-throughput transactional systems.
- Prior experience as a Deputy Program Manager or senior project management role on a federal IT program.
