On-Call Unarmed Security Guard

Overview

Tactica Solutions LLC seeks Part-Time/On-Call Unarmed Security Guards to provide essential relief coverage in support of U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans. This position supports full-time personnel by covering shifts during absences, leave, and other staffing needs to ensure uninterrupted security operations. Candidates must reside within the New Orleans metropolitan area to support short-notice scheduling requirements. On-call/as-needed basis. Shifts are typically Monday through Friday, 0630 to 1500; however, hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on operational needs. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Control entry and exit of personnel and vehicles
• Verify credentials and maintain access logs
• Enforce established security protocols
• Conduct visual inspections for prohibited items and suspicious activity
• Process visitor credentials and issue temporary passes
• Provide directions and maintain visitor logs
• Monitor assigned areas for threats and safety hazards
• Respond to emergencies in accordance with established procedures
• Prepare incident reports and maintain professional communication
• Support law enforcement personnel as needed
• Perform routine duties including patrols, equipment checks, shift briefings, escort duties, and coordination with U.S. Coast Guard personnel
• Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid State of Louisiana Security Guard License
• Valid Louisiana driver's license
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of security guard experience (federal experience preferred)
• Must pass U.S. Coast Guard background check
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8.5 hours per shift)
• Ability to work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR certification

Training Requirements

• Minimum 78 hours of initial training (customer service, defensive tactics, inspections, emergency response, etc.)
• Semiannual Use of Force refresher training
• Annual refresher training (minimum 8 hours)

Uniforms and equipment provided Job Location: New Orleans, LA Physical RequirementsWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
