Job Title: Network Engineer
Company: Insight Global
Position Type: Contract to hire
Rate: $36.06 - 55.29/hour
Clearance Required: Secret (Top Secret/SCI Preferred)
Required Skills & Experience:
Certifications:
Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level 2
CCNA highly-preferred
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of experience
OR Master’s degree and 2-6 years of experience
Technical Proficiencies:
Strong knowledge of network hardware (specifications, configuration, testing)
Hands-on experience with configuring, activating, testing, and troubleshooting routers and switches
Understanding of telecommunications and IT concepts, terminology, and foundational technologies
Knowledge of data and voice network architecture (multi-system transmission paths, router-to-router connectivity, switch-to-switch trunking with VLANs, circuit provisioning)
Practical experience with network services/technologies and appliances (routers, load balancers, DNS servers, firewalls)
Familiarity with network protocols (BGP, OSPF)
Job Responsibilities:
Support end-to-end service activation by coordinating with customers, architects, and vendors
Perform IT&A to ensure implementations meet government standards
Manage service orders and TSOs
Initiate device configurations and validate customer requirements using DISN systems/databases
Design and adjust network configurations, and coordinate circuit activations with commercial providers
Monitor network performance to verify successful changes
Apply systems analysis techniques to define functional requirements
Collaborate with government project managers and customers to resolve unclear or incomplete information
