Job Description:
Indigo is seeking a Test Director to lead high-visibility test and evaluation efforts for AI-enabled autonomy and multi-domain systems supporting Department of War missions. This role will drive the planning and execution of complex test events across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and live environments, focused on JADC2 and system-of-systems integration.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in operational testing, autonomy systems, and multi-platform integration, and thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities:
-Lead end-to-end test planning and execution for multi-domain autonomous systems (air, maritime, ground)
-Translate CONOPS into executable test plans, scenarios, and mission threads
-Define Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs)
-Oversee test events across virtual, HIL, and live operational environments
-Coordinate integration across multiple vendors, platforms, sensors, and C2 systems
-Ensure interoperability across heterogeneous architectures and communications systems
-Direct real-time test execution, including test control and safety oversight
-Lead data collection, telemetry integration, and post-test analysis
-Deliver decision-quality reports and recommendations to senior stakeholders
-Interface with DoW customers, OUSD(R&E), and industry partners
-Support demonstrations and Distinguished Visitor (DV) events
Required Qualifications:
-Active Secret clearance (or TS, TS/SCI)
-10+ years of experience in test & evaluation, operational experimentation, or systems integration within DoW or defense industry
-Experience leading complex test events involving multiple systems and stakeholders
-Strong understanding of autonomy, AI/ML systems, or C2 architectures
-Experience with simulation, HIL testing, or live range operations
-Ability to translate mission needs into technical test objectives and measurable outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with JADC2 or system-of-systems integration
-Familiarity with digital twins, modeling & simulation environments
-Background in ISR, Air Operations Centers (AOC), or operational C2
-Strong experience in data analysis and performance evaluation
Why Join Indigo:
-Work on cutting-edge autonomy and AI systems shaping future warfighting capabilities
-Direct impact on mission-critical testing and operational adoption
-Collaborate with top-tier engineers, operators, and government stakeholders
Benefits:
-PTO: Federal holidays + 3 weeks vacation (accrual-based)
-Health Insurance: Employer-paid individual premium after 30 days
-Retirement: SIMPLE IRA with up to 3% employer match
