Geospatial Database Administrator (Key Personnel)
Position Description
The Geospatial Database Administrator is responsible for the oversight, security, performance, and technical integrity of the ArcGIS Enterprise environment supporting DOE/NNSA. This role serves as the senior technical authority for enterprise GIS architecture, geospatial databases, integrations, and system health monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and enhance ArcGIS Enterprise in a DOE‑owned cloud
- Monitor system health, performance, availability, and data integrity
- Manage geospatial databases, including spatial indexing, compression, backup, and recovery
- Integrate ArcGIS Enterprise with DOE/NNSA systems (e.g., OneID, BUILDER, Palantir, SAFER)
- Support ATO, FedRAMP Moderate, vulnerability management, and cyber documentation
- Serve as senior technical escalation point and support training and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years enterprise GIS experience, including Esri ArcGIS Enterprise
- Advanced expertise in SQL and geospatial data formats
- Experience integrating GIS with enterprise systems and APIs
- Experience supporting secure federal environments (NIST 800‑171, FedRAMP, ATO)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance (active TS/Q preferred)
Work Location
- Remote with required on‑site presence (Washington, DC and/or Albuquerque, NM – 10% Travel)
