Job Description:
- Collect and assess State ISPs from the respective JFHQs-State quarterly to ensure integration with CCMD campaign and contingency plans
- Consult with State planners to ensure plans are standardized, integrated, and synchronized with JP 5-0
- Assist with evaluating ISPs by participating in wargaming, workshops, or events
- Provide analysis and recommendations
- Attend working groups
- Facilitate and coordinate working group meetings, draft and distribute meeting invitations to attendees, as determined by the government
- Observe and take notes during meetings, ensuring accurate tracking of the issues, concerns, requests for information (RFIs), tasks, and responsibilities
- Conduct background research, strategic estimates, strategic guidance assessments, and data analysis to inform the NGB-J5-J on National Guard matters
- Analyze guidance, documents, senior leader meetings, and working groups relevant to the Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS)
- Perform comparative analysis of the documents as well as NGB’s inputs to those documents from previous years
- Support the development of NGB strategic communications and congressional reports
- Contact CNGB strategic communications POC to receive written guidance on specific public affairs and information requirements to be included in the NGB strategic communications, and congressional reports
- Provide analysis of policy statements, speeches, and publications made by Government officials to assess their impact on the National Guard’s interests within the JSPS
- Analyze policy statements, speeches, and strategic publications made verbally or in writing by government officials
- Incorporate insights and implications for key documents of analysis
- Conduct ongoing research and analysis of strategic documents addressing emergent topics and security challenges
- Support the NGB J5-J by scheduling, coordinating, and participating in J5-J related meetings, reviews, and workshops to ensure situational awareness and actionable outcomes
- Perform plan development and review functions for the NGB-J5-J
- Research and analyze information to prepare the NGB-J5-J for CNGB/VCNGB participation
- Provide analysis of discussion topics, including outlining National Guard equities and highlighting potential talking points for senior leaders
- Review CCMD Campaign Plans based on NGB-J5 priorities and provide recommendations to the NGB-J5-J regarding National Guard equities and their incorporation into National Guard enterprise planning
- Conduct an annual assessment of CCMD Campaign Plans to identify necessary changes and propose updates to the NGB-J5-J
- Support ETMS2 tasks per NGB-J5-J
- Research, analyze, and provide recommendations for assigned ETMS2 tasks
- Provide trip reports for travel conducted in accordance with approved tasks
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years Plans/Analyst experience
- Master’s Degree preferred
- TS clearance
- Knowledge of NG plans and operations
- Joint Planners Course or equivalent
- CGSC/ILE or equivalent
