We are seeking an experienced Pega Platform Administrator to support platform administration, environment readiness, access administration, monitoring, system health reporting, audit/access reporting, capacity support, and operational sustainment for an enterprise Pega-based SaaS modernization effort within the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role helps ensure the solution remains available, secure, responsive, properly monitored, and operationally ready to support PPBE, budget, acquisition, reporting, workflow, and auditability functions. The Pega Platform Administrator works closely with architects, engineers, release managers, support resources, testers, data/integration engineers, and Government stakeholders to administer the platform, manage operational readiness, support deployments, monitor health, and contribute to incident and change management activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Administer and monitor Pega platform environments supporting enterprise SaaS implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Support environment readiness, access administration, user provisioning coordination, role-based permission management, authentication support, and audit/access reporting.
• Monitor application performance, availability, system health, alerts, usage, capacity, data flows, interfaces, and operational metrics.
• Prepare system health reports, access reports, capacity planning inputs, operational metrics, monitoring summaries, and administrative documentation.
• Coordinate with Pega engineers, release managers, and test teams to support test environment readiness, deployment preparation, release windows, rollback procedures, and post-deployment monitoring.
• Support incident management by analyzing alerts, triaging operational issues, supporting root cause analysis, and coordinating corrective actions.
• Maintain configuration and administrative records for platform environments, access changes, operational baselines, monitoring thresholds, and system activity.
• Support patching, maintenance, release coordination, environment refreshes, and operational readiness reviews in accordance with approved processes.
• Collaborate with data/integration resources to monitor interface performance, data exchange activity, and data-flow anomalies.
• Support security, auditability, and compliance activities related to access control, administrative actions, logging, monitoring, and operational reporting.
• Work with Tier 1-3 support resources to resolve platform-related user issues, recurring incidents, and operational escalations.
• Recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, administration processes, knowledge-base content, and operational support procedures.
• Maintain platform administration documentation, SOPs, knowledge articles, and operational support materials in approved repositories.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 5+ years of progressive experience in platform administration, application administration, systems administration, cloud/SaaS operations, monitoring, or production support.
• Experience administering or supporting Pega applications, enterprise SaaS platforms, workflow systems, or business application environments.
• Familiarity with user access administration, RBAC, authentication, audit logging, monitoring, alerting, system health reporting, and operational support practices.
• Experience supporting production and non-production environments, deployments, release readiness, incident response, and operational troubleshooting.
• Practical understanding of system performance, capacity monitoring, availability, application health, interface monitoring, and root cause analysis.
• Experience using monitoring, ticketing, collaboration, or administration tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, cloud dashboards, or similar platforms.
• Ability to document operational procedures, system health updates, access changes, issue resolution steps, and knowledge-base content.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with architects, developers, testers, support teams, release managers, and Government stakeholders.
• Ability to support after-hours, emergency, or pre-approved scheduled work when required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
• Exposure to Federal, state, health, financial, or other regulated IT operations environments is beneficial; Department of Veterans Affairs experience is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with enterprise SaaS, cloud platforms, application administration, platform monitoring, production support, or operational reporting is valued.
• Experience with Pega Cloud, Pega Platform administration, access administration, monitoring dashboards, or operational support tools is a plus.
• Working knowledge of incident management, change management, configuration management, audit logging, system health reporting, or capacity planning is beneficial.
• Relevant Pega, cloud, ITIL, ServiceNow, systems administration, monitoring, or operations certifications are preferred, but not required.
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
CLEARANCE:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
