Description:You will be the Wind Tunnel Engineer - Level 4 for the Aerodynamics Test Team which is responsible for delivering high-fidelity wind-tunnel testing and aerodynamic research for government and commercial programs.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Wind Tunnel Engineer - Level 4 you will be responsible for leading technical efforts in onsite aerodynamic labs while supporting a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with internal Lockheed Martin customers to define test schedules, requirements, and technical approaches.
Guide model design, fabrication, instrumentation, and installation using mechanical-design expertise and CATIA modeling.
Plan and track project performance, budgets, and schedules to align with functional organization goals.
Maintain and enhance custom LabVIEW-based software, supporting data-acquisition hardware, motion-control, and pressure-measurement systems.
Enforce rigorous safety standards across large wind tunnels, smaller aerodynamic labs, and associated high-pressure/vacuum equipment.

Further Information About This Opportunity
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government Secret security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
- Experience working in high tech lab testing environment.
- Knowledge and drive to enhance management of test projects.
- Willing to travel for off-site testing for potentially multiple weeks per year.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems, primarily focused on the acquisition of data from pressure transducers, strain gages, and temperature probes.
- Willing to work hands-on in a laboratory environment.
- Experience wind tunnel testing.
- Knowledge of National Instruments LABVIEW to maintain and develop new capabilities.
- Experience with Matlab.
- Experience with 3-D Solid Modeling CAD systems.
- Experience in instrumentation design and installation.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to learn continuously and the ability to identify multiple avenues to successfully reach team goals.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to develop clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers.
- Microsoft Office Skills - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
