Job Description
VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking a Chief of Staff to support our NAVSEA PEO customer. This position reports onsite 5 days a week at Mark Center, Alexandria, VA.
The Chief of Staff will have extensive experience and will be responsible for a broad range of acquisition portfolio strategic activities, communicating with and supporting senior leadership and Senior Executive Service (SES) and is expected to work with limited direction, executing significant discretion and judgment in all aspects of their role. This position requires an individual with strong administrative and effective communications skills, short and long-term project management experience and experience developing executive briefings and deliverables and producing high-quality written products. The Chief of Staff should be proactive, self-motivated, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks for numerous people in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.
Responsibilities:
Work with senior leadership to plan, coordinate and execute strategic initiatives and mission priorities
Monitor progress and provide oversight on multiphase projects
Develop high level written products, information papers and tailored executive briefings
Monitor and manage tracking including commitment tracking, monitoring internal and external tasks and requests for information, ensuring actions are completed and providing status updates
Coordinate and gather information and assist with legislative affairs and public affairs
Manage Flag Level taskers and build stakeholder executive briefs
Build and cultivate interpersonal relationships to facilitate collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders
Keep track of senior leader's schedule and ensure they have materials needed (talking points, etc)
Handle sensitive information and maintain accountability for timely completion of assignments
Work independently and with a team to effectively manage multiple tasks within a dynamic and high-speed work environment
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
15+ years of senior-level action officer/executive assistant experience supporting high-level DoN/DoD Senior Executive Service (SES) and military program executive office (PEO) leadership to plan, coordinate and execute strategic initiatives and mission priorities
Experience managing multiphase projects across multiple organizations
Experience developing high level written products, information papers and tailored executive briefings
Strong verbal communication, facilitation, collaboration and technical writing skills
Ability to work under time constraints and identify and resolve problems and conflicts
Strong analytical skills along with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent customer interaction skills
Proficient using in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Power BI, MS Teams, and SharePoint Online (SPO)
Knowledge of DoD organization, culture, and terminology
Familiarity with DoD and DoN policy and correspondence guidance
Active DoD Secret Clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
Prior Navy / Department of War (DoW) / Pentagon experience supporting SES level staff preferred
Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance

Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000.00 to $150,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTA's total compensation package for employees.
