Data Modeler - Data Integration & Modernization Enablement
Location: Remote
Description:
Seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Data Modeler to support VFMP modernization and the Data Integration Project by producing data models, data flow diagrams, and database design documentation. This role will translate reporting and business rule decision requirements into structured data designs and support migration/conversion planning to modernized platforms.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting VFMP modernization.
• Produce data flow diagrams and design documentation; define entities, relationships, constraints, and standards.
• Support database design decisions including indexing approaches, file organization, and security considerations.
• Partner with engineers/developers to ensure data model alignment with integrations and downstream uses (reporting, business rules).
• Support evaluation/configuration of database products and alignment to requirements.
• Plan and coordinate data conversions/migrations from legacy sources where applicable.
Required Skills:
• Strong data modeling skills in relational environments; strong documentation discipline.
• Experience supporting data integration efforts and reporting enablement.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical implementers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• Experience with healthcare operational data domains (intake, eligibility, claims, appeals).
• Experience with enterprise data governance and data quality practices
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of relevant data modeling experience preferred
