Job Description

Responsibilities

Be part of a fast-paced, high energy, team supporting Strategic Systems Programs Re-Entry Branch on the SLCM-N program as a Model Based Systems Engineer Integration Lead. This unique and challenging role requires a strong understanding of both DOE nuclear weapon systems and DoW delivery platforms. The successful candidate will serve as the technical expert tasked with developing SysML model content, assisting with requirements decomposition, and contributing to verification planning. In addition, due to the nature of the work, the candidate will be required to become a certified Derivative Classification expert and will assist in reviewing deliverables produced by SP28 and Arcfield Lead Engineers for classification accuracy. The candidate should be intimately familiar with nuclear weapon programs and have an in-depth understanding. This position will require the candidate to represent the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings and be directly responsible for the management of key deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the analysis, decomposition, and interpretation of system requirements from various stakeholders, translating them into detailed system models and architecting their implementation across multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for environmental model development utilizing Cameo and integration efforts with SNL on multiple requirement-based deliverables.
  • Become certified in classification manuals specific to the DOE and their application to a nuclear weapon program.
  • Interface directly with government customers (DOE and DoW) and external partners, presenting findings and building strong collaborative relationships.
  • Formulate Plan of Action and Milestones for projects and is able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure milestone accomplishments.
  • Maintain records and classification databases in alignment with contract requirements and Arcfield policies.
  • Act as a customer liaison representing the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings.
  • Develop and review documentation and supporting material for technical accuracy.
  • Be data and process driven with the ability to identify areas of concern and able to provide recommendations for overall improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's (with 5-7 years of experience) or Master's degree (with 3-5 years of experience) or a PhD (with 0-2 years of experience) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • The ability to work well within a team and the ability to collaborate on projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience utilizing engineering tools for ModSim efforts or analysis.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • A passion for learning, helping others, sharing team knowledge, and contributing value to the mission in any way possible.
  • Will be required to become certified in SysML.

Desired:

  • Prior specialized experience supporting a Nuclear Weapons program,
  • SSP Experience.
  • Willingness to learn and become a subject matter expert with various system engineering tools.
