Responsibilities
- Analyze user needs, concepts of operation, and high-level architectures to create clear, actionable system requirements.
- Guide stakeholders in defining requirements, evaluating alternatives, and assessing feasibility.
- Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design elements, and emerging technologies.
- Support all phases of the SDLC, with emphasis on system testing, validation, and compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain system engineering documentation, including system architecture and design artifacts.
- Prepare or contribute to system engineering management plans, integration plans, and test strategies.
- Coordinate requirements management, including breaking down work into actionable technical tasks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage timelines and report progress toward technical goals.
- Perform root cause analysis of production issues, such as outages, unexpected behavior, and performance bottlenecks.
- Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures, system topologies, and best practices
- Monitor system health using dashboards (e.g., Grafana) to identify performance trends and resource utilization issues.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- 14+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- An additional 5 years of systems engineering experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with Agile development processes
- Strong focus on process, delivery, and high-quality deployments
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or demonstrated experience leading Scrum ceremonies
- Experience capturing, managing, and validating requirements with customers and development teams
- Excellent communication skills-able to convey technical concepts clearly and collaborate across diverse teams
- Experience with issue and backlog management tools, including sprint planning and producing artifacts such as burndown charts, roadmaps, and velocity metrics
- Experience creating and maintaining documentation for system configurations, processes, and support procedures

- Lean Six Sigma or similar process-improvement certification
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, and microservice architectures
