Location: Littleton, CO (Onsite Only)
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 schedule (Every other Friday off; onsite full-time)
Pay: $104,500 – $184,115 annually in CA, MA, NY (excluding most major metropolitan areas), CO, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, VT, WA, and Washington DC; for other states, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location and consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for a Project Engineer serving as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead and Cost Account Manager (CAM) for spacecraft flight cable and harness design. The engineer will provide leadership on a fast-paced team from requirements through development and production, coordinating across functional groups to deliver complex harness and cable products for critical space missions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide leadership to a fast-paced engineering team across requirements, development, and production phases for flight cable and harness products.
Ensure effective coordination between functional groups (design, analysis, manufacturing, test, quality, and program leadership) throughout the product development lifecycle.
Communicate technical status, risks, and issues to internal program, technical, and functional leadership, as well as to external customers.
Participate in technical reviews and audits, representing the cable and harness engineering organization.
Plan, organize, control, integrate, and complete engineering projects for harness and cable products within the assigned area of responsibility.
Help develop timely resolution plans for issues, compliance evidence, and associated documentation.
Help resolve engineering and program execution issues quickly to support leadership and customer needs.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of parts procurements, headcount challenges, and resource constraints and factor these into planning and execution.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a STEM discipline (engineering, science, or related field), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Team leadership experience in an engineering or technical environment.
Cost Account Management (CAM) experience, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and performance.
Experience with Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
Approximately 8+ years of professional experience with a relevant degree.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Flight cable and harness design or production experience, having led program design teams and been sought after as a subject-matter expert.
Experience in root-cause analysis, with demonstrated success leading investigation teams and implementing effective corrective actions.
Program planning experience, including defining scope, milestones, and resource needs.
Experience using schematic/cabling drafting tools such as Zuken (or similar) and 3D modeling tools such as Creo (or similar), preferably in a model-based engineering environment.
Experience collaborating with subsystem, survivability, environmental, and other specialty engineers to develop unique cables for various space products.
Cable and harness production experience or direct work with production centers.
Experience presenting to leadership and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive issues to closure.
