Candidates must already possess an active Top Secret/SCI w/ Full Scope Polygraph to be considered.
We are looking for a Lead Technical Writer to own the documentation lifecycle for a global IT contract, translating complex engineering and RMF concepts into clear, developer-focused manuals and technical specifications.
Qualifications & Compensation:
• Degree: Technical bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Years of experience: 6+ years
• Total Compensation: $135k+ yearly
Job Description:
• Create and write various user documents, including how-to guides, references, manuals, and instructions.
• Translate complex scientific and technical ideas into simple, understandable language.
• Collaborate with customers to translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Support engineering teams by documenting system components and engineering artifacts.
• Provide leadership for technical writing tasks and serve as a primary liaison for contract coordination.
• Act as Process Owner for all program technical documentation.
• Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software, covering installation, configuration, and operational guides.
• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents for software and systems engineering, operations, testing, and user documentation.
• Apply strong writing and grammar skills to deliver accurate documentation under tight deadlines.
• Design and develop developer-oriented documentation, collaborating directly with developer teams.
• Utilize documentation tools to develop templates and produce output in various mediums.
• Demonstrate knowledge of SDLC, IT environments, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and PWS terminology.
• Manage experienced professionals, allowing latitude and independence in assignments.
