Senior Health Analytics Consultant
Remote
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination
Blu Omega is seeking a Senior Health Analytics Consultant to support a federal program focused on Medicare payment model analysis and health policy support. This role operates within a remote consulting environment and is responsible for healthcare claims analysis and analytic support for policy and payment model decisions. The position requires experience supporting health analytics and claims-based analysis within a mission-driven environment.
Program Overview
This role supports a CMS Medicare initiative focused on shifting chronic disease care from fee-for-service to outcome-based payments by incentivizing providers to use technology and continuous care to improve patient health.
Key Details
Location: Remote (Remote for the first 6 months; after that, may require up to 4 days/week onsite for individuals living within 30 miles of DC, NY, or MN offices)
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination
Responsibilities
Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $139,000.00
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.

Responsibilities
- Perform Medicare claims analysis to support policy and payment model work
- Develop and maintain analytic code using SQL and Python (and other approved analytic tools as needed)
- Support policy and payment model analysis through documentation and high-quality analytic deliverables
- Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in health analytics, research, consulting, or a similar environment
- Proficiency with SQL and Python for data analysis
- Experience working with healthcare claims and enrollment data within large data warehouse environments
- Knowledge of healthcare data structures, patient attribution concepts, and claims data
- Ability to develop and verify analysis parameters, prepare documentation, and write efficient, high-quality code
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively on teams
- Experience with R and/or SAS
- Experience conducting statistical analyses to inform health policy decisions
- Familiarity with complex healthcare databases such as the Integrated Data Repository or Chronic Conditions Warehouse
- Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid payment methodologies
- Experience with parallel processing techniques for large datasets
- Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, VBA) and other data visualization tools
- Experience using artificial intelligence to support work
Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $139,000.00
