Job Description

The Opportunity

NexTech Solutions is hiring a Counter-UAS Subject Matter Expert and Field Engineer to serve as the technical lead for our C-UAS portfolio with customers in the field. This is a hands-on, forward-deployed role. You will support test and evaluation events, run demonstrations, lead system fielding and operator training, and own the day-to-day customer relationship.

This position bridges engineering, operations, and customer success. The right candidate understands the C-UAS kill chain, detect, track, identify, and defeat, and is comfortable troubleshooting a sensor stack at a range, walking a customer through system capabilities, and training operators who are new to the system. You will be the person our customers call first.

Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)
  • Serve as the field technical SME for the company's C-UAS systems, spanning detection sensors, C2 software, and defeat mechanisms, in support of test, demonstration, fielding, and training events.
  • Support planning and execution of test events and customer demonstrations against representative Group 1-3 threats, including system setup, live operations, and post-event debriefs.
  • Support site surveys, system emplacement, and sensor optimization during fielding.
  • Lead operator training during fielding events, and help maintain training materials, TTPs, and SOPs.
  • Perform field-level troubleshooting, maintenance, and software/firmware updates on deployed detection and defeat systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts: track issues, coordinate engineering support, and keep customers informed through resolution.
  • Capture field observations on detection performance and threat encounters and report them back to engineering and product teams.
