Desired Skills and Experience:
• Active Secret Clearance
• IAT II certification (one of the following: CySA+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 10+ years of relevant network engineering experience
• Expertise supporting enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Experience with hardware/software installations, firmware upgrades, STIG compliance, and network performance optimization
• Strong knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, routing, and network architecture
• Experience managing AWS and Azure cloud networking environments
• Hands-on experience with HPE Aruba and Palo Alto networking solutions
• Expertise with OSPF, BGP, and IPsec technologies
• Experience implementing and managing Network Access Control (NAC) solutions
• Ability to provide after-hours/on-call support and respond on-site within two hours of notification

Position Overview:
The Senior Network Engineer will provide comprehensive engineering, operational, and cloud connectivity support for the RDT&E/SRDT&E network environment. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, high-performing network infrastructure, integrating cloud platforms, supporting security initiatives, and ensuring reliable connectivity across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide engineering and operational support for physical network infrastructure, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and performance enhancements.
2. Monitor and analyze network performance at both physical and IP packet levels using enterprise monitoring tools.
3. Respond to and resolve network outages during after-hours, weekends, and holidays as part of an on-call rotation.
4. Manage IP address space, VLANs, route tables, VPCs, and virtual gateways across AWS and Azure environments.
5. Establish and maintain secure cloud connectivity utilizing Virtual Private Gateways, Virtual Gateways, and Azure Gateway Virtual Network Peering.
6. Troubleshoot connectivity, bandwidth, and latency issues in coordination with cloud customers and engineering teams.
7. Build and maintain network testing environments and execute validation and assessment activities.
8. Develop and maintain corrective action processes to track issues, coordinate vendor resolutions, and validate fixes through regression testing.
9. Prototype, install, and maintain routing, distribution, firewall, and boundary network infrastructure.
10. Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF and BGP, as well as secure tunneling technologies such as IPsec.
11. Implement and manage NAC solutions, 802.1X authentication, and Zero-Trust network architectures.
12. Install, support, and maintain enterprise wireless network infrastructure for both indoor and outdoor coverage areas.
13. Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and STIG requirements across the network environment.
