Position Overview
Telecom Technician
Location: Dusseldorf, Germany, Sudan, Juda, Malawi, Lilongwe, Honiara, Solomons Island, Kalispell, Montana (Travel & Lodging covered)
This position supports projects focused on upgrading and maintaining telecommunications and network infrastructure. The Telecom Technician will assist with site surveys, cable installation, testing, termination, troubleshooting, and network infrastructure upgrades. Projects may include an initial survey phase followed by installation work lasting several months.
Minimum 3 years of relevant telecommunications experience required.
SECRET clearance or higher required.
- OSHA 10 certification required.
- Experience installing telecommunications cabling and related infrastructure.
- Experience with fiber-optic cable installation, testing, and termination.
- Experience installing and working with CAT5 and CAT6 cabling.
- Experience with coaxial cable.
- Experience installing vertical and horizontal cabling to desktop/workstation locations.
- Experience installing network switches.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot signal transmission issues.
- Experience with ISP and OSP telecommunications infrastructure.
- Site survey experience, including evaluating existing infrastructure and identifying modernization needs.
- Management or team-lead experience is a plus.
Candidates should be comfortable working through different project phases, including approximately 1-month site surveys and 2–6 month installation periods, depending on the site.
