Maintenance Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator)

Duties

• Perform grounds maintenance including mowing, tree removal, and brush clearing.
• Conduct a visual and auditory inspection of a structure, facility, and ground.
• Perform maintenance for mower upkeep by sharpening mower blades and greasing/lubricating equipment.
• Operate a motor vehicle to transport material and equipment to a worksite.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
• One year trial period required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance (Tier 3: Noncritical-Sensitive, Moderate Risk).
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
• This position requires the incumbent to possess or be able to acquire a valid State Driver's License.
• This position is mission essential.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. Perform basic mower maintenance and repairs; inspect facilities and document defects; safely operate vehicles to load and transport materials and equipment; clear snow using a plow; and assist with preventive maintenance. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort:
Stands, walks, and bends while performing the work. Lifts and carries equipment and materials weighing up to 40 pounds. The work requires considerable physical effort for long periods in handling materials and operating equipment.

Working Conditions:
Works inside and outside in all types of weather. Subject to injury from handling equipment, burns, fumes, noise, falls, cuts, dirt, and grease. May be required to wear protective clothing and equipment.
