Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: Remote in either Remote or Washington, DC
Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help strengthen and scale cybersecurity programs and initiatives across their enterprise. This role will involve close collaboration with security architects, incident response teams, and business units to implement robust security controls, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help strengthen and scale cybersecurity programs and initiatives across their enterprise. This role will involve close collaboration with security architects, incident response teams, and business units to implement robust security controls, manage vulnerabilities, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain security architectures and frameworks to protect critical assets
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards
- Lead incident response and forensic investigations
- Manage security tools and platforms (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.)
- Provide security awareness training and support to employees
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security into the SDLC
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in security architecture and engineering
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.)
- Experience with security tools and technologies (SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant certifications
- Experience in cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices
