Position Summary


The Unit Armorer / Physical Security Technical Instructor provides formal instruction and field assistance for unit armorer operations, arms-room management, weapons accountability, weapons PMCS, and physical-security requirements.


Primary Responsibilities

• 
  
  Teach the Unit Armorer Certification Course.
  
  


• 
  
  Train Soldiers and unit personnel in arms-room management procedures.
  
  


• 
  
  Train personnel in weapons maintenance and weapons PMCS.
  
  


• 
  
  Support arms-room and physical-security SAVs.
  
  


• 
  
  Assist Government inspection teams in arms-room and physical-security functional areas.
  
  


• 
  
  Provide onsite weapons-PMCS and arms-room technical assistance.
  
  


• 
  
  Advise units on weapons accountability, access control, key/control procedures, and applicable security requirements.
  
  


• 
  
  Help units identify procedural deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  
  


• 
  
  Maintain current knowledge of applicable Army, installation, and technical requirements.
  
  


• 
  
  Prepare or contribute to briefings, trend reports, training records, and other required products.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 
  
  Minimum three years of experience in unit armorer operations, small-arms maintenance, physical security, weapons accountability, or directly related Army logistics functions.
  
  


• 
  
  Strong knowledge of arms-room management, weapons accountability, weapons PMCS, and applicable physical-security processes.
  
  


• 
  
  Prior unit armorer or comparable hands-on arms-room experience.
  
  


• 
  
  Working knowledge of applicable Army physical-security requirements and technical publications.
  
  


• 
  
  Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners and provide hands-on technical coaching.
  
  


• 
  
  Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications used for reports, presentations, and training products.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
  Knowledge of AR 190-13 and related installation physical-security requirements.
  
  


• 
  
  SAV, COMET, inspection-support, or unit-readiness experience.
  
  


• 
  
  Graduate of ABIC, FIFC, CTC, or equivalent DoD/TRADOC instructor training.
  
  


• 
  
  Broader maintenance, supply, or property-accountability experience.
  
  


• 
  
  Active Secret eligibility/clearance.
  
  

Security and Installation Access


Active Secret eligibility/clearance is anticipated to be required for onsite personnel at contract start, subject to final Government requirements. The selected candidate must also be able to satisfy installation-access and background-investigation requirements applicable to the position.


Work Location and Schedule


Work will primarily be performed at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia.
