Senior Tester Analyst II (Mid–Senior Level)
Program: OPNAV N16 – MyNavy HR Enterprise Testing
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required
Travel: Up to 10% CONUS
Position Overview
The Senior Test Analyst provides advanced testing, test coordination, and test leadership support for OPNAV N16 MyNavy HR enterprise systems. Executing test cases remains a core responsibility of this role. Beyond that, the Senior Test Analyst is expected to independently develop and maintain testing artifacts, analyze source materials to develop comprehensive test coverage, lead assigned testing activities, coordinate test events, mentor Test Analysts, and provide recommendations to Test Leads and program stakeholders. The role calls for someone who is highly organized, comfortable communicating with stakeholders in writing and in person, capable of producing clear and professional materials in standard Microsoft tools, and able to guide testing efforts through planning, execution, reporting, and closeout activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Test Execution: Execute and lead assigned functional, regression, integration, smoke, UAT, and UX test cases in accordance with approved test plans and schedules.
• Test Artifact Development: Develop, document, maintain, and review test plans, test scripts, defect trackers and reports, and other testing-related artifacts, ensuring materials are accurate, well organized, and audit-ready.
• Requirements & Test Case Analysis: Analyze requirements, training materials, product wireframes/demos, and other source materials to develop comprehensive test cases for UX, UAT, and functional testing events. Maintain traceability between requirements, user stories, test cases, defects, and test results to ensure adequate test coverage and validation of functional requirements.
• Defect Management: Document, track, retest, validate, and analyze defects in approved tools, ensuring accurate reproduction steps, supporting evidence, root cause discussion support, and verification of resolved issues.
• Tracking & Reporting: Track and report testing activities and work status in Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), SharePoint Lists/Kanban boards, dashboards, and other program reporting channels, keeping status current and visible to Test Leads and leadership.
• Test Coordination & Event Support: Coordinate test activities, including managing Teams channels, document and file management/tracking, meeting invites and sign-up sheets, welcome briefs, outreach communications, UX surveys, participant coordination, test schedules, and readiness activities.
• Meeting Participation & Facilitation: Participate in, organize, and facilitate test execution meetings, daily stand-ups, defect triage discussions, requirements reviews, and release readiness activities.
• Test Event Leadership: Lead assigned testing activities during test events, coordinate participants and analysts, support issue triage, provide execution status updates, and assist Test Leads in keeping events on schedule.
• Execution Support: Support Test Leads with test data preparation, environment validation, readiness assessments, execution oversight, reporting, and test event closeout activities.
• Quality Review & Mentoring: Review testing artifacts produced by Test Analysts for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards. Provide mentorship, knowledge transfer, and day-to-day guidance to junior team members.
• Standards & Governance: Adhere to and promote Navy testing standards, governance processes, and quality expectations across assigned testing activities.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous process improvement to enhance testing efficiency, quality, and repeatability.
• Status Communication: Prepare and communicate clear status updates, testing metrics, risk assessments, defect summaries, and findings to Test Leads, leadership, and stakeholders, including via well-organized spreadsheets, dashboards, and briefing materials.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with product owners, functional stakeholders, developers, Program Managers, and Sailors to support MyNavy HR testing efforts, validate user needs, and ensure testing outcomes align with operational expectations.________________________________________
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in application testing, system analysis, or enterprise IT support.
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of Navy personnel and HR systems or ability to rapidly learn and support Navy HR business processes.
• Prior experience with U.S. Navy or Department of Defense (DoD) programs, environments, or stakeholders strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports.
• Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification (preferred but not required).
• ISTQB Certified Tester Acceptance Testing (CT-AcT) certification (preferred but not required).
