About the Role:

We are seeking a System Engineer (SE) - Level 2 to support the design, development, and implementation of complex systems. The candidate will analyze system requirements, contribute to system architecture and design, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and experience in system engineering processes, technical documentation, and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and define system requirements based on user needs and high-level system architectures.
  • Develop system engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Support system design and development activities, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) standards.
  • Lead or contribute to the integration of requirements, design, and technology within large-scale systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the technical integrity of all deliverables.
  • Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, technical reviews, and risk management efforts.
  • Conduct trade studies and feasibility analyses to evaluate alternative system solutions.
  • Establish verification and validation methods for system and subsystem components.
  • Assist in system integration and test planning efforts to ensure compliance with functional and technical requirements.
  • Support DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes, including the planning and analysis of security controls.
  • Define and manage system interfaces, ensuring compatibility across components.
  • Maintain system baselines and configuration control throughout the lifecycle of the system.
  • Provide technical direction and participate in Joint Capability Integration Development System (JCIDS) document development.
  • Support system integration activities across multi-disciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications:
  • 14+ years of experience in systems engineering for projects of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field. (Five additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.)
  • Hands-on experience in system architecture, requirements development, and risk management.
  • Strong background in DoD systems engineering principles, interface definition, and integration.
  • Experience in system verification, validation, and lifecycle engineering.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with government stakeholders and program personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working on DoD, intelligence, or aerospace programs.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and related tools.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA), security mechanisms, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Exposure to Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
