Position Description
As a Configuration Manager (CM), Skill Level 2, you will be responsible for overseeing configuration management (CM) activities for both developmental and operational systems. In this role, you will create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) that support systems throughout their lifecycle. Additionally, you will develop and modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of each system. Your role will include leading configuration control and performing audits to ensure system integrity and adherence to policies.

Position Description
As a Configuration Manager (CM), Skill Level 2, you will be responsible for overseeing configuration management (CM) activities for both developmental and operational systems. Additionally, you will develop and modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of each system. Your role will include leading configuration control and performing audits to ensure system integrity and adherence to policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining and implementing hardware and software version control processes, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and develop environments for hardware and software product builds, staging, testing, and integration.
- Use configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration items.
- Ensure that configuration baselines are maintained across development, test, and production environments.
- Serve as an advisor or non-voting member of the Government Change Control Board (CCB).
- Perform change control and configuration audits to ensure adherence to project baselines.
- Support the implementation of configuration management discipline across the entire lifecycle of systems.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Six (6) years of experience as a Configuration Manager on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional configuration management experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Strong understanding of configuration management processes, version control, and the use of CM tools such as DOORS and Eclipse.
- Experience maintaining configuration baselines across multiple environments (development, test, production).
