Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Ft. Meade (On-site with potential global travel)
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Certification Requirement: Security+ CE or Higher
Degree: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred, not required
SUMMARY
Be part of a small but strong senior-level networks team responsible for architecting, designing, installing, implementing, and maintaining a large multi-agency program-based mission essential network infrastructure with very strict security, fault tolerance, and latency requirements.
Areas of involvement include rack level, data center, and transport layers. The team supports multiple programs with shared agency requirements, offering continuous technical challenges based on evolving mission needs.
Most work is performed on-site at the customer location, though some travel may be required, including overseas.
Strong opportunities exist for leadership roles in core expertise areas and collaborative involvement across adjacent technologies.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience in network engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance
- Proficiency with Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco networking devices
- Certifications in Juniper (preferred) and/or Cisco
- Proficiency with multiple network protocols, including:
- TCP/IP, IPv4, UDP (and multicast), TLS, VPLS, GRE
- Experience configuring, maintaining, or troubleshooting:
- Routing Protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP
- EVPN: Ethernet over BGP/VXLAN or MPLS/VXLAN
- Multicast, STP, VLANs, and Trunking
- LAN/WAN environments
- Network Controlled Interfaces/Security: Firewalls, ACLs
- Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in team environments
DESIRED SKILLS
- Juniper Certifications: JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE
- Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP
- Experience working seamlessly within technical teams
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with Linux or BSD networking and system administration
- Hands-on experience with Multicast protocols
- Proven experience designing and building environments (not just monitoring/NOC roles)
- Willingness to own engineering responsibility and present designs/solutions to the team and customers
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Prior experience supporting very large global networks
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Senior-level (not management) candidates only - 10+ years of experience
- Strong preference for Juniper over Cisco
- Multicast experience is highly valued - please provide specific details on where/when/how it was used
- Candidate must have experience in network design and implementation, not just monitoring
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), LAN/WAN, and firewalls
