Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company, is seeking a dynamic Strategic Planner to drive strategic growth and innovation in Directed Energy and other Defense-related technologies. This senior role combines strategic vision, business development, technical expertise, and influential communication to drive growth in High Energy Laser and High Power Microwave solutions across multiple Department of Defense agencies and uniformed services. The person filling this position will evaluate existing strategies and formulate plans for execution and enhancement to ensure long-range success with customer and capability portfolio expansion.
Key responsibilities include developing, evaluating, managing and executing strategic plans to ensure Radiance is meeting critical customer needs in technology development that are consistent with customer roadmaps, while seeking to influence collaboration and integration among multiple customer entities. Interface at the executive level across customer, company, and teammate levels will be required. This candidate will also contribute technical expertise in the execution of funded programs.
This position requires a blend of influential visionary leadership and hands-on technical acumen, thriving in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates innovation, effective communication, adaptive problem-solving, and the ability to balance strategic growth with operational execution. This position is expected to be impactful and influential and will report directly to the Group Manager.

Required Experience:
- PhD in Physical Sciences or Engineering
- 20+ years in the Directed Energy field and broadly considered a subject matter expert
- Experience and proven success in communicating with high-level Government and Corporate leadership
- Proven interpersonal skills in developing and fostering working relationships
- Background, willingness and ability to expand technical contribution and strategic planning in other fields outside of Directed Energy
Required Qualifications:
- Strong desire for strategic planning and business development across multiple DoD entities
- Business development skills, such as proposal development and evaluation, client engagement, and partnership building
- Self-motivated leader capable of mentoring and developing staff
- Network of DoD customers and contractors with proven skills in relationship building
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills, including executive-level communications
- U.S. Citizen with current TS security clearance (or eligibility to obtain/maintain)
- Ability and willingness to travel (valid passport desired)

- Familiarity with hardware, software, and modeling & simulation development as it applies to product development
- Familiarity with laboratory software and instrumentation as it applies to product development and analysis
- Familiarity with instrumentation and testing of systems, subsystems, and components
